Devotees of Prabhupada Sankirtan Society in Manhattan recently had the pleasure of visiting with the devotees of Montreal. In a very nice area of the city devotees of Montreal have established a beautiful temple and Govinda's restaurant. PSS Madhavananda dasa (09-23-00)

The situation is headed up Nanda Keswara Prabhu and his wife who have been faithful disciples of Srila Prabhupada for about 25 years. There is a wonderful congregation of devotees there working together to maintain the temple and restaurant. The head cook Nitai mystically prepared the most transdendental dishes and varieties of prasadam all weekend. Mahavira kept sweet Mahamantra melodies flowing throughout the temple kirtans and street Harinam which enthused many people at the local park to participate with drums and clapping. Meanwhile Mother Krishna Devi from Manhattan distributed Srila Prabhupada's books to the people whom she found very receptive. Aprakrta Das and Bhakta Hari attended to the devotees very warmly throughout the weekend and performed many tasks like arati and cleaning of the temple. Hasti Gopal was also visiting from Toronto and very nicely arranged for traveling and facilites for the devotees from New York which included Kapindra Maharaja, myself (Madhavananda das), Mother Krishna Devi, and Bhakta Steve.

The consciousness of everyone involved was centered around Srila Prabhupada as everyone's spiritual master. Classes were conducted by listening to Srila Prabhupada's lectures and discussing the points. Everyone was very enthused and the Saturday and Sunday evening programs turned out 30-40 guests who all experienced a stomping riproaring kirtan and succulent feast. Kapindra Maharaj spoke on the importance of hearing from Srila Prabhupada. A large television screen in the temple room broadcasted continuous images of Srila Prabhupada. Prabhupada's vyasasana was surcharged with his presence, clearing the path between him and the altar. Altogether, the entire atmosphere was completely Krishna and Prabhupada conscious. As more people are becoming enthused by such a situation, more and more Prabhupada temples will emerge throughout the world. Soon all the clouds of illusion will be dissipated by the light of our beloved spiritual master. Jaya Srila Prabhupada.
